Electrical Reconditioning, Safety, Sustainability Take Center Stage at 2010 PEARL Annual Conference
Voice of the Denver Nuggets joins leaders in electrical reconditioning, sustainability, and safety at PEARL's Electrical Safety and Reliability Conference & Exhibition to be held April 24-26 in Denver.

The Professional Electrical Apparatus Recyclers League (PEARL) will educate electrical suppliers and reconditioners on the latest engineering and reconditioning practices, electrical safety and sustainability initiatives, and OEM partnerships during the upcoming 2010 Electrical Safety and Reliability Conference & Exhibition at the Westin Tabor Center in Denver, CO, April 24-26.

Star personalities from the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the electrical industry promise to make the 13th annual conference something special. After a week of optional skiing in Summit County, attendees kick off the conference with a tour of local PEARL member, Denver Breaker and Supply, followed by a meet-and-greet reception. Technical presentations begin Sunday with expert commentary on several topics important to electrical reconditioners, including bolted pressure switches, plating procedures, the causes of bus duct failures, arc flash mitigation, and the latest PEARL reconditioning standards for electrical transformers.

Monday kicks off with keynote speaker, Jerry Schemmel – survivor of United Flight 232 plane crash, author, and voice of the Denver Nuggets – who will talk about his unique perspective on surviving difficult times and the meaning of personal and business success. Other highlights include Nabil Nasr, Director of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), who will look at sustainability and reuse in the electrical industry; and Eaton Corporations Anti-Counterfeit Manager, Tom Grace. Grace will update attendees on electrical counterfeits from overseas and fruits of ongoing cooperation between Eaton and PEARL members to keep counterfeit products from the electrical marketplace.

Interested attendees and exhibitors should contact the PEARL office at (877) 287-3275, send an email to pearl@pearl1.org or visit www.Pearl1.org. Corporations that join PEARL within 30 days of the conference will have their conference registration fee applied to their membership dues.

A highlight of the 2008 PEARL conference: Attendees that took advantage of the facility visits were thrilled by 1 million volts flowing through this 10-ft Tesla Coil built by David Qualls, an engineer at Boeing Corporation and member of the Tesla Society. The coil now resides at ROMAC Supply (Commerce, CA), where it was purchased ROMAC president, David Rosenfield. For video footage, visit: http://www.pearl1.org/downloads/Colossus-Tesla-coil-video.wmv
